You know what? With the stabilization of this web site [read: pretty much completed] there are often times not all that much to write about - at least not in the "old" way of recounting all the site's updates & new stuff. Pretty much, you can count on the current Gathering page being updated, the Frontier News & Notes page being updated at least monthly, and periodic "From The Ramparts" dispatches. Sometimes, though with increasingly less frequency, there will be new additions ... but we have a "What's New" page ...
So, the future of The Weekly Update ... ?
Is it passé? Nah ... from time to time, there'll be a good, old-fashioned Weekly Update ... E-mail of the Week, and all!
But, it's not always "there."
So, what to do to fill in the blanks? Possibilities:
- Nothing. Just skip it!
- Write an essay on "whatever" each week.
- Maybe open it up to the Moderators - or anyone, really, to write a column each week.
Hey! That's an idea! But, there'd probably be no takers ... CHICKENS!  But, it's an open invitation. I guess you'd have to submit it to us via E-Mail & then I'll post it - to avoid 4 thousand weekly updates a week! Ha Ha! Seriously, I'm game to giving anyone a shot ...
Speaking of Moderators ... bet you didn't even know we had 'em! You all being such a good bunch, there's really little need ... but, on occasion a posted thread needs to be moved to a different forum, a topic needs to be made Crown Law [remember? Stickey?], a double post needs deleted, or an URL fixed in someone's post ... The Moderators help me keep up with that stuff. Who are they? well ... Lainey, Bea, Ilse, Theresa, Jayne, Huggy, and Gadget Girl all serve the Board in that capacity.  Thanks, ladies!
I guess no one has yet thought of a good use for the Topic Notelets?
And, while I'm here ... the 2003 Great Mohican Gathering page has had some major revisions this weekend. Do check it out!

Honestly, I look forward to the weekly update to either get a rundown on what I may have missed, or to simply hear from you. Please don't "skip" it - it's always good to just get a hello, especially now that we're on the west coast!

How about a quick weekly update on Sophia and the rest of the family, especially if there isn't much website/gathering news? I'm sure most of us look forward to any weekly update, and I know many of us are keeping Sophia in our prayers.
How about it? Like starting today with a PS to this post?

Dear Rich and Elaine,
I just went to the page with today's update on Sophia, and it pinched my heart. Although it hurt to read it, please do keep us in touch. We can't be there with you, and this is the only way to help us feel like there is something we can do, no matter how little it may be.
