Personally, I'm afraid that this monstrosity will pass - likely today. Not because it is good; not because it is what we the people want -- no, nothing so noble. It will pass, I think, for the Glory; so that they can slap each other on the back.
I don't think it is socialized medicine; not, yet ... It will be. This is the first stepping stone to that end. Think I'm hysterical? Watch and listen to their own words: SINGLE PAYER OPTION |

Well it looks like Rep. Stupak has been 'bought & paid for' too, and all for the promise of an executive order (which can be overturned just as easily). Hopefully Rep. Stupak will be replaced this November as well...
...Gee, a Democrat who sold his vote; who would have guessed?

It borders on the insane & unbelievable, - and as a country, we sent these a-holes there. Some of the most blatant and despicable "vote buying" in the history of our country has just transpired. .. The TOTAL freakin' lies that were told to get this done. It's gonna save us money??? - I'm here to tell you, there's NOT a freakin' chance will this save a damn dime, and even worse, improve anyone's health. - EVERY government program costs FAR MORE after its enacted, than any projections made during it's inception. This total monstrosity will cost at LEAST 3-5 times what we've been told. - WE have just bankrupted the country, seriously - and forget about "taxing the rich" to pay for this pos, - that ain't how it's gonna play out. ... NOT A FREAKIN' CHANCE!!! |

Let's hope, - it WILL BE an "interesting" mid-term election this year. . By POLITICO STAFF | 3/22/10 6:05 AM EDT .
Within moments of House passage of the historic health care bill, Republican House and Senate challengers across the nation were quick to react and vehement in their responseswith many promising to work vigorously for repeal.
Top GOP candidates, including Steve Stivers in Ohios 15th District and Stephen Fincher in Tennessees open 8th District pronounced themselves appalled in their press releases.
Former Congressman Mike Fitzpatrick, running against Democratic Rep. Patrick Murphy in Pennsylvanias 8th District referred to the bill as a disaster.
When I am elected to Congress I will lead the fight to repeal this horrendous legislation, added Republican Jim Barnett, who is running for the open seat in Kansass 1st District.
Barnett was one of many Republicans promising to work toward undoing the landmark legislation.
Florida GOP Senate candidate Marco Rubio said in a press release he wanted to reiterate my strong support for repealing it and offering alternative reforms that will lower health care costs without growing government and breaking the bank.
Nick Jordan, a Republican running for the open 3rd District seat in Kansas, promised to work tirelessly to repeal this harmful legislation."
In Connecticuts 3rd District, two Republicans seeking the GOP nod against freshmen Democratic Rep. Jim HimesTom Hermann and Rob [omitted]also highlighted their plans to vote for repeal if elected in November.
[omitted] went even went a step further, promising attention to the matter right out of the gate.
I promise the very first act I will take as a Congressman will be to repeal this TRILLION dollar, job-killing, health care damaging legislation," he said in a press release not long after the bill passed the House.
Numerous challengers used the occasion to link their Democratic opponents to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.
In a press release mentioning Pelosis name three times, former Congressman Tim Walberg promised to hold town hall meetings in all seven counties of Michigan's 7th District in an effort to oust freshman Democratic Rep. Mark Schauer and work toward repealing the bill.
In Idahos 1st District, Republican Vaughn Ward hammered Rep. Walt Minnick, even though the freshman Democrat voted against the bill.
Walter Minnicks party has done it again. Though he voted no on the health care bill, he did nothing to work with Republicans to stop this unconstitutional bill from being forced on the people, said Ward, who also pledged hed work tirelessly for repeal, in a press release. It is time to remove Walter Minnick and help pull the gavel of power from his boss, Nancy Pelosi.
In Floridas 22nd District, GOP challenger Allen West pointed toward what he saw as an unholy Democratic trinity.
The liberal troika of Obama, Reid, and Pelosi has once again conspired to trample the will of Americans and strong armed Congress to pass health care legislation the public simply does not want, he said in a press release. My pledge to the people of the 22nd District is simple-once elected I will do everything in my power to repeal the repugnant portions of this monstrous piece of legislation."

quote: Monadnock Guide noted: Let's hope, - it WILL BE an "interesting" mid-term election this year.
MG, it will prove to be a very interesting year, and on many fronts. You must look at this as a giant game of chess, which involves a great deal of strategic as well as tactical thinking. For unfortunate as last night's vote was, it is still only one battle in the war, and we can at least find humor in the celebratory mood of the Cultural-Marxists and their army of Leeches. We can poke fun at them, as they revel in the notion of having us Stakeholders subsidize yet another facet of their shiftless existence. But while we do, we will also be positioning our pieces for 'checkmate'. As I noted to Sachem Rich on another thread, that they may well have this victory; but now we focus on making them hang for it.
Have faith MG, for there is an ancient Chinese curse in which it is written, "May you live in interesting times." And I feel that it is going to get real interesting for the Democrats in the coming months

quote: From the Fox Article referenced by Monadnock Guide: "We all know, and it's been said over and over again, that our economy needs something, a jolt and I believe that this legislation will unleash tremendous entrepreneurial power to our economy," Pelosi said. "Imagine a society and an economy where a person could change jobs without losing health insurance, where they could be self-employed or start a small business. Imagine an economy where people could follow their passions or their talent and without having to worry that their children would not have health insurance."
I do not know what tremendous entrepreneurial power that this piece of unconstitutional legislation will unleash, but I can tell you that it will stifle medical/pharmaceutical research. But then again, what could Rep. Nancy 'Bolshevik Barbie' Pelosi (AKA- 'The Pineapple Princess') possibly know about entrepreneurial spirit? She is after all, a Democrat...

So, the American people are either Cultural Marxists, leeches, or "us Stakeholders"?
Well, I'm a Stakeholder, Sarge. I work, support myself, pay taxes, and own property. I could retire tomorrow with a defined-benefit pension and the same health benefits I enjoy now. I don't really need the bill that was just passed.
But millions of people do -- not just those who can't find jobs, but those who are working at jobs that don't provide health care, or at jobs that could end tomorrow, or both.
Are they Cultural Marxists or leeches?
And as for that giant chess game: We have a grandmaster. Do you? |

quote: BookwormMG asked: So, the American people are either Cultural Marxists, leeches, or "us Stakeholders"?
Yes
quote: BookwormMG then followed with: Well, I'm a Stakeholder, Sarge. I work, support myself, pay taxes, and own property. I could retire tomorrow with a defined-benefit pension and the same health benefits I enjoy now. I don't really need the bill that was just passed.
No, you are not a Stakeholder, but a Cultural-Marxist. A Cultural-Marxist is self-supporting like a Stakeholder, but also is very willing to take the fruits of my labor, and give it to those who did not earn it, through the force of government.
quote: BookwormMG then stated: But millions of people do -- not just those who can't find jobs, but those who are working at jobs that don't provide health care, or at jobs that could end tomorrow, or both.
And here we go with this hackneyed argument; I'm suprised you didn't try the 'greed' BS as well. Let me tell you something, there was a time in my life when I didn't have health insurance through my job, and I couldn't even afford the more than $700/month I pay for my current 'Cadillac' health care plan. Back then I had two daughters (instead of the current three), and in addition to the 'normal' childhood injuries, my eldest also suffers from being developmentaly disabled. My eldest's specialists, the routine doctor visits for both, and the all-too common emergency room visits, were paid for by me. I simply informed the respective office staff of my insurance status, and they arranged payment programs for me (they are very helpful, once you let them know that you actually want to pay them). I spent several years working and sacrificing, but I paid every last dollar owed (and I worked more than one job as well, the same kind of jobs which I see in more than a few want-ads today!) Now I know that if I could do it, then any able-bodied person should as well.
Even though I more than qualified for public assistance, I refused to suckle from the public teat. I was raised with a work ethic, and never to take anything which you did not earn through your own hard work. And it even took some serious convincing from my lodge master for me to accept the help from the Shriner's Hospital; and that was after he noted that the efforts I gave to the brotherhood, more than offset any of the private assistance forthcoming.
So before you play that 1960's leftist guilt-trip horse-sh*t, you better check-out who you are trying to lay it on!
quote: BookwormMG then added: Are they Cultural Marxists or leeches?
If they are physically capable of work, and fail to do so, then they are Leeches. I know that work is available, I see 'Help Wanted' signs all around where I live. Granted, these are not 'corner-office' jobs, but you have to start somewhere. And guess what? Like me, they too can work more than one job as well!
quote: BookwormMG finished with: And as for that giant chess game: We have a grandmaster. Do you?
A 'Grandmaster', huh? I don't know about that, since his educational transcripts and papers are still sealed. For all we know, he was nothing more than another 'EEOC-grad', just to keep the demograhics looking good in the Ivy League. What I can go on is his public behavior to date, and what I see is not the conduct of a 'Grandmaster', or other form of statesman. What I see is a con-man, a bully, and a narcissistic adolescent, of a Marxist bent.
And if that is all you have, then please do make your next move

Well it looks like Rep. Bart Stupak (D-MI) got his requested executive order from our Undocumented President, and the only thing that remains is to see how long it will be before old Bart figures out that an executive order can not supercede statutory law. Now I know that this is something which most of us learned back in high school civics class, and that anyone else with a higher than room temperature I.Q. could figure out as well. Obviously Rep. Stupak falls into neither catagory, but at least he does officially hold the title of the cheapest 'date' in the Democratic Party!
With the previously mentioned worthless executive order, and his surviving all of the arm-twisting by 'Bolshevik Barbie' Pelosi, old Bart must have thought that he bought a pass. Well, I have a final question for Rep. Stupak:
"Hey Bart, how is that 'Obama-Thing' working out for you?"
