That word "reportedly" was important.

Regardless of what may have been planned on 1/25/10, that exemption was not in the final bill.

Media Matters is a Clinton "based" site, - and YES, if someone is covered by insurance presently, and "likes it" (barf) then they can keep it. Guess, what??? IF this new program is such a great freakin'idea, then APPLY IT across the board to EVERYONE!!! - There's not a chance in hell - that will happen. Let ALL government employees, on EVERY level, lead the way!!! (BTW, don't hold your breath)

.
What makes this thing absurd beyond reason - is "down the road" a tad, if a company wants to "get out from under" the cost of buying health insurance, which eventually most will, - as the "buyer/supplier/provider" of health insurance they can dump their employees on the public plan.
.
Now, as a taxpayer, I'm a "provider" of health insurance, plain as day. Yet I have to continue to buy/pay for my own insurance, plus at the same time "buy better insurance" for government employees. Why this injustice you ask??? - Simply because "they like their plan" and are unionized. While "we tax payers" who are footing the bill for this whole pos, get run over again - and have no say in "opting out" of providing additional (and unneeded) coverage.

Thank you MG for answering this, since I was still shaking my head in disbelief at BW's ignorance of the bill (now public law), which she obviously had supported. How someone could not possibly realize that elected federal officials, who are paid from the federal-level public purse, are federal employees, is beyond me; but here it is...

Then again, most of the Democrats who voted for the law, and its 'fix-it' bill, were also completely clueless of the facts as well.
