"My neck of the woods" meaning I am from Northern Ireland MG and for the record definitely not a "cougar". I like and have always liked older more "experienced" men Having said that I must point out that my hubby is four years younger than me but we met when he was 22 and I was 26 so I was definitely not a "cougar" at that age, besides the term was not around in the late 80's lol.

IG could probably explain this better, - but it has "something" to do with older women going after "really" younger men. Seems there's two levels, a Cougar & a Puma. Cougars apparently are over 40ish I guess, while Pumas are in their 30's - kinda "Cougars in training" as I understand it. - Seems to me, 60ish is kinda pushing the age limit on this idea a tad further than it should go. ;) - At a "young 59" you might still be in the game, ... ;)

It seems there's yet another category: a Washington Post writer used the term "super-cougar." I don't know whether that refers to Mrs. Robinson's age or to the 40-year age difference between her and her paramour!
