i bet it's the same one but hope that it is just one of many. i do, however, wish it would have stayed on my side of the St. Croix. We need more cougars, they along with the cold, grueling winters keep the riffraff out.

I do not see why this kind of stuff makes the local news. It's a big cat, it's an animal, they exist and go where they please.

Heh-heh.... I've known some pretty feisty little chipmunks! You've gotta watch them, too. My cat does. He loves them. To eat.

I think she means Cougars, MG.....40+ yr old women who go after younger men, like REALLY young men....MUCH younger (18yrs old or so)than themselves. It's a slang term. Younger 'older' women, like in their 30's, who do the same are called Pumas, or Cougars-in-training!

Am I right, IG?

Yeah....when men do it, they are called "Dirty Old Men", but, hey....dirty old men need love, too! (It could also be said, "Dirty old men need dirty old women.")

Irish, maybe you should have said "fortunately" rather than unfortunately!

Well, just goes to show you that I am not a cougar! I had no idea what you meant! Never heard the term used that way before. Guess I'm still in the woods with MG.

Seamus... do tell us.... just how do you know so much about cougars?

No BW, - the Wapack Trail in New Hampshire. What's wrong with hiking the Appalachian Trail??? Sounds like a good idea, even if not very original. And I always thought cougars were to be avoided, - guess not, but I'd say the horse has already left the barn, a loong time ago.
.
WW, - Joyce, who needs a cougar? A "good time" can still be had in the woods, ........ right? ;)

MG, there's nothing wrong with hiking the Appalachian Trail if that's really what you're doing. When Governor Mark Sanford of South Carolina disappeared for several days, however, his staff said that he was "hiking the Appalachian Trail." It was later learned that in fact he'd been visiting a woman other than his wife in Argentina, so "hiking the Appalachian Trail" has become a snarky euphemism for conducting a clandestine affair.
