Received from Clabert the other day, after a tip from Theresa ... thought you all might find it of interest. Consider it The E-Mail of the Week!
Yep!! Could be!!! I just got back from Dallas/Ft. Worth where I took my resume and photos and talked to these people. I`ve been in contact with them for about two weeks after they sent me an email asking for reenactment photos and a resume. When I walked in and told them who I was, they stood up with big smiles and said "We know who you are Mr. Menard". They had already been showing some of my pictures around and told me they had emailed them to Hollywood. This is what they emailed to me Tuesday. I go back to Dallas June 1st for an interview. I have a very good chance of getting a part in this TV Series. If the TV show is a hit, a full length movie will follow and everyone in the TV show will be in the movie. It starts filming in Oklahoma in August. One episode a month for 12 months. All I know right now is things are happening way to fast! If I get any part other then a non-speaking extra, it could mean a career change. Wish me luck!! You may post any part of this if you wish. We will be needing lots of prayer so that we make the right decision as I`ld be giving up a $50,000 a year job and all the benefits. Maybe they will let me take a "leave of absents" and keep my job if it doesn`t work out. I`m not going to talk to them about it till after June 1st. :) Clabert P.S. Maybe this is why we couldn`t make it to Gathering 2002? :)

Thank you for posting this Rich and passing along this information to all our Mohican friends. Sounds like the man's got a chance at this. I've always believed that things happen for a reason and although we will miss Clabair-bert dearly at this year's Gatherings, this is simply an opportunity for him and his family that can't be passed up. Wishing you God-speed and luck French Trader friend.

Hey guys and gals! Thanks for all the well wishes. Just let it be known that I consider you guys family. I`m still wearing a 2 gallon hat here and I don`t plan to let it get any larger. Hahahaha Theres been a few jokes about "I knew him when" and "Don`t forget the little people". I know your kidding and all kidding aside, I place all of you a couple rungs higher on the ladder then me. Actually, I`m scared to death about this coming Saturday. I just hope they like what they see and I don`t screw up. I`ve been absorbing everything "cowboy" I can get my hands on. Even planning a trip to the Texas Ranger Museum in Waco this week. I`ll send Rich a couple of the "cowboy" photos I sent them for you guys to see. I`m not smart enough to post them. I leave Thursday morning and will be back from Dallas some time Sunday night. I`m off for 2 weeks so I`ll let you know what, if anything happens.

I'll post the photos, anyway!!! First ...
The kid's a natural! And then, this ...
I see potential here ... Go git 'em, Clabair!
And, as an aside ... I am on the verge of a major change in my life, too! That's right, MISTER Menard ... I ain't lettin' you steal ALL the glory around here! Yes, 'tis true! I believe, with my very next post, that I will cross that great threshold and have ... err ... I mean ... BE [Yeah, THAT'S what I mean!!!!!!] ... an AVERAGE MEMBER!!!! What an honor to bestowe [sic - a six degrees thing there!] upon me ... |

GOLLY GEE RICH! It truly is a life altering event when a man changes from having...er...I mean BEING a junior member to an AVERAGE Member . I have chuckled so at all the member ascension (it is ascension isn't it???) references, but I'M still trying to just keep up and keep my little folders from being PURPLE!
As for Clabair...good thoughts and wishes for success going out your way, Bud!!!!

I have Can-Can girls?
Seriously though, I think Clabair looks great as a cowboy! I can't wait to see the finished product! I told him if they need any western reenactors from out west to give us a holler!

Oh my! Where is my fan? Viewing those pictures of Clabert ala Paladin has me all a'twitter! I thought the French Trader was truly a sight to behold in loincloth and leggings, but in gunfighter basic black he looks positively....DANGEROUS! I may have to mosey over to Doc Mary's for a remedy....
