Welcome back, my good Dutch friend!!!! Good to see your name!
Looks like there's some catching up for you to do ... I've whizzed by you in posts, and with Bea & Lainey on hiatus, there are no serious challengers! I think I'd like to get rid of that "stat" anyway, now that I think about it ... perhaps, it's intimidating to some; embarrassing to others????
Who knows ... ?
Anyway, glad you're back home! |

My 2 cents: I'm not particularly fond of that "stat" - I don't see the purpose in it, but I can live with it.

Ilse,
I am so happy to see your name once again signed on. You know that ... thanks for returning, friend. (Though if I were you I think I'd rather keep on with my search & studies of the Australian wildlife.)
Remember - we created a new, good thing here. Where were we?
Glad you returned safely & I DO hope your return is not only to the Lowlands. That wouldn't do at all ...
With regards & respect,
Lainey/Mohican Press

Really? I didn't know he was still in the business. Living in NY now. Yes, a big favorite from me too. I picked up a greatest hits compilation a few weeks ago and have constantly been listening to it since.

Is that the "In Blue" or "Blue" CD or something like that. I have this CD which includes BREATHLESS (oops, slipped up and had to go back and remove the *s* - would've changed the picture a pinch, dangit being right beside the *a* - maybe it's just my FAT fingers!!)...ANYWAY, I like that one too, by my favorite Coors song is on a collaborative Cheiftains CD - the song - I Know My Love! Have you heard that one?

Hi Di,
No, I don't know that one..And yes, the CD is called IN BLUE.Another favourite song of mine on that CD is GIVE ME A REASON.
I suppose the CD isn't the newest but that's what a I hear on the radio, well, when I listen to it..:) BREATHLESS became my summer song as well as "STANDING STILL" by Jewel. Good thing I didn't purchase the latter one's CD as it wasn't great. Thank God for libraries! BTW I can so relate to STANDING STILL..hehehe Do you know the song?

Music Genres& FRIENDS .. I ask you n myself on occassion too.....THIS Pondering THOUGHT????
Whats happenned to Modern music in the last 40 yrs or more????.I dunno...............
The 50's earley 50's with Keely Smith...she's and 'Indian' , ya know. and was a Popular 1950's Jazz and POP vocalist I now LOVE...and all that Nat King Cole and Rosemary Clooney stuff is Primo! Loved Many a rocker too I love them.....and then we have the GLORIOUS Late 1950's yeah! EARLEY ELVIS .BEFORE THE ARMY.......and before he became a wuss............then the earley 1960's w/ Dion and with The gal groups n shirelles then THE BEATLES N STONES N KINKS from 64-69 and then the Glorious hippie Era of 1968-72 and WOODSTOCK.seen that film over 198 times............................no like that genre though...my least fave era.............the yrs 69-71........i no liked long Guitar solos by bar bands on drugs....as i used to call em...But Hendrix n clapton and Jimmy Page were FAVES for a LONG TIME..
Enter: the Glitter YEARS/ ERA ..We are all YOUNG ONCE!>>>>Tsssssss....LOved GLITTER ROCK n The clothes n scene.i was 15-18 @ that time in 71-74.. Bowie n T-Rex n Elton N The SWEET n The Move and Mud and Slade and David 'Flawless' ESSEX. alice cooper and The ILLUSSION. @ the Action House in Long Beach.. n The ROCKPILE.and not to forget............'Janis loved janis in the late 60's
Loved some of the earley Dance/Disco ERA......some tunes were Brilliant.................and the night life n scene were WILD n so sexxed up n outa control.i loved it......but still REMAINED a BEATLEManIAC n STONES HEAD .throughout..
Now one of the Best Musical Era's and changes .....New wave: ELVIS COSTELLO, SQUEEZE, Blondie, the Pretenderes. the Cure, Billy Idol n gen X , Talking Heads The Ramones, They live a block away ,still...ILSE >YES!.......Television/w Tom verlaine.he lives in this apt Complex too...as does Lloyde cole as you do know Ilse.........
The the BIG 80's..Most of my counterparts in my age group 46-49 L<oathe the earley 80's BUT I as a music liberal HEAD N FAN lOVED THIS era OF ''SONG STREALING'' AND REHASHING OF THE 1960'S.THATS WHAT IT WAS.WITH A DASH OF 70'S TOO........i LOVED DURANDuran AND tHE BOY WE KNEW AS GEORGE AND 'THE hUMAN lEAGUE' N 'SOFTCELL' WHO I SAY IS AND WAS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE SOUND AND FEEL N VIBE OF THE 1980'S. all thoser hair colors n straaaaange lenghts were so cool.i had a few colors and cuts that weere way out a control nad drew lots of attn but It WAS the 80's and i was a kid @ heart.....working in a music sore n a health food store
I embraced everything 80's MTV"S Underground Alternative show @ midnight on sundy's was The BIBLE OF NEW MUSIC called 120 minutes,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,i STILL watch all out vhs tapes of those shows.with The The.and The Smiths and The Cure he, Robert Smith had the Best hair Ever so Outa 80's Control that i find that sexy.@ that time and and The Assocciattes /WHAM! Love george micheal, STILL.....tuff........and Strawbwrry Switchbale and 'DEAD OR ALIVE' w. thier tune 'You Spin Me Round' {Like a record baby} round round.. loved that tune...saw en with bowie and Iggy POP in 1986 4 blocks away @ a Spin Magazine Record Promo party
The late 1980's .BON JOVI........Gee um.Ilse i just know u aint gonna beleive this BUT them too.....well @ least the guitarist Ritchie Sambora is Our Ole mate& Drew's Guitarist from Drews 1970's pop/Rock band , called Surrender AND PALYED THE cLUB 82 N mAX'S kANSAS CITY ALLOTT and Ritchie want to school w Drew and are from the same Town in NJ........I was in Rirchies bedroom in the late 70's .no no..no.. not doin that.tSSSSSS......BUT HES SO ''HU...''............??.but I was watchin n hearin drew n ritchie, AKA Mr Heather Locklear..REahearse n Write tunes.is he lucky or what i love HER! .............................I only liked 3 tunes by them The Bon Jovi boys...............but thats it.Loved YOU GIVE LOVE... |
