 Hello All, I just saw this ad -
"Buy a Signature "Rock" for yourself or as a unique and special gift for family and friends. Signature "Rocks" are engraved with a personalized message and will be placed in the walkway at the entrance of the RiverWalk in Chimney Rock Village. Funds raised for Signature "Rock" sales support additional enhancements along the walkway."

I think that's REALLY COOOOOOL!!!
$50.00 isn't much if many chip in and write something like:
Great Mohican Gathering '04
Or:
LOTM Gathering 'o4
And though our names won't be on it individually, everyone will be there under their 'family' name...
I think that would be a GREAT - and permanent - reminder of a really SPECIAL event!!

Thanks Kate,
Yes, that's a great idea for all of us to pitch in and have one
overall rock for our group. I could bring a sign up form at the
gathering if people want to do it.

Me too!! If just the three of us sign it, we're only $16.67 - that's not TOO much. If 25 people want to do it, it's only $2.00 a piece. If 50 people want to do it, it's only a dollar! And... when you think about it, what can you get for a dollar these days????
Well... for a dollar, each of us could help give 'Great Mohican Gatherings' a PERMANENT place in the history of Chimney Rock! It will be a permanent reminder that 'once we were here'...

You are right-on there, Jayne! You guys have to come up with something that is only 2 lines, with up to 14 characters (including spaces) on each line. Not much room to work with!

Hi Ya'll,
Well I've been having fun adding everyone to my list.
I thought I would bring it to the gathering, listing 3 or 4 choices
of wording for the rock, and a column for the amount of money each
person would like to pitch in for it.
Everyone would have all week to sign up for it since I'll order it
after the gathering. If I don't have enough money, I'd let everyone
know and we can pitch in a bit more. I'm thinking a dollar a piece
with 50 signing up.
We could do an online poll here, but I don't think everyone coming to
the gathering would see it. But.... if Rich sends out an email.....
What say you?

Ya' gotta count your characters and your spaces on each line. "Each 'Rock' can have up to 2 lines, with 14 characters per line, including spaces." (Direct quote from above website.)
