I just heard from David again and the print is in the mail. I should be getting it anytime now. Below is a picture of what we will be raffling off at the Gathering. It is titled. "AHNAWAKE"
Her name is Ahnawake Clinch and she is a friend of Davids. This is a limited edition and is valued around $100.00.
Ahnawake is Cherokee and her name means Prairie Flower.
I am VERY excited to be able to bring this print for you to see and to raffle off. A BIG thank you goes out to our FRIEND David for this lovely donation.

There you go, Cherie ... You can't have weird symbols like "@" in the image name ... must be all numbers and/or letters.
All better! |

WHOO HOO~~~~ The print has arrived
It is signed and numbered. (for those interested the number is 1106/1400).
Mr. Wright also included a 5x7 copy of the print. I am going to go ahead and have this one framed and include it in the raffle. So hopefully one person won't win both
See you all soon Cherie |

Hey Cherie, I know I've seen this picture before somewhere. On a note card, a book cover, or in one of Jim's muzzleloading magazines. I really like it and you can count on lots of raffle tickets being sold, I'm sure!

You are so right, Karen -- it was on the cover of Muzzleloader. One of the best things about that magazine is keeping up with all of the wonderful artists like Mr. Wright. |

Isn't Muzzleloader a great magazine? They have some really interesting articles. Like the interview with Mark Baker where he talks about working with DD-L for LOTM. I'm donating a brand new issue of that one for the raffle. It's still in the plastic wrapper it came in!

Hurray!!! Another woman who reads Muzzleloader! I rush to the mailbox during the last week of every even-numbered month to see if it's here yet, and the best part is seeing what's on the cover. If it's a painting I try to guess whether it's Griffing or Buxton or Wright or Paluh or whoever. Great disappointment if it's a western scene -- never got into the mountain man thing. And you're so right about the articles. I've learned an awful lot from them. Hey Karen, June is an even-numbered month -- maybe the new issue will be in our mailboxes when we get home! |

....or you could all just tell me I can keep it..which ever you prefer! |

I hadn't thought about that, Bookworm! I don't read it as much as I'd like to, but try to at least check it out when it comes. JIm also gets one called Muzzle Blasts. It's the publication of the National Muzzle Loading Rifle Association. It's interesting too. I have to say that I also find the mountain man era very interesting also. We have family that lives in Pinedale, Wyoming and I actually got to go to the mountain man museum there a few years ago. I bought so many books on that trip! Judging from your name here, I figure you can appreciate that! Cherie, I promise I'll buy tickets!
