My house is in ruins after packing but I am set to go. Tomorrow I'll be heading off for a walkabout Down Under for a month. I'll be keeping my eyes open for internet cafes to check up on you guys and my e-mail (only private ones of course, work be damned!).
I'll expect, though, to be woop woop (a long way from civilisation) for some time, while trying to be a good yobbo (redneck) instead of a stickybeak (nosy person), and still pick up dinki-di (something good from Australia). All in all, I'll strife to be a fair dinkum (someone or something genuine) even if that is all just being away with the pixies (daydreaming). Yes, I'm practicing
See ya in a month!

Well, thank you for the crash course on 'How To Speak Australian" - I THOUGHT all you had to know was 'more beer.' You wouldn't be heading down under (or woop woop?) just to be tracking a certain New Zealander (fair dinkum) known to inhabit the Aussie lands, would you?
Have a GREAT trip, Ilse! Wish I could be woop-wooping too! See ya in a month, mate!
(And do check up on everyone here!!!)

"more beer" will probably do, I think. As for the search for the RC fair dinkum, that one apparently lives east of Sydney. My itinerary says: at Sidney turn suddenly west. Keep going for a while and then suddenly turn north. Keep going until your feet get wet and crocodiles eat you. Nothing subtle about it, right Rich?
Signing off now! I'll try to give some livesigns!

Oh, Ilse...have a great time. I loved Australia even if I was only there for two weeks. You shouldn't have any problem finding internet cafes...unless, of course, you're way in the Outback. We found several on our walkabout. I see you've been practicing your language. Good idea. Be safe...enjoy yourself...and we'll look for you in the "Crowe's Nest". ;-))

Anth: If and when I find an Aussie bodyguard, I'll keep him to myself, dude! :) Alas, it's winter here, so no point in visiting the beach. Sorry, man!
Very quick message here guys, since I managed to pick the internet cafe that closes in 10 minutes time, sigh.....
Sidney great! Blue Mountains wow! Now in Canberra on my way to an Irish pub, haha! and moving on in the direction of Melbourne tomorrow.
Hopefully more the next time!
Oh and Huggy: didn't see the man, but my hotel was pretty close to the neighbourhood he has an apartment in!

Ilse...Melbourne you say? One of our guides was from Melbourne....a HOTTY!! He's unmarried and a firefighter....Paul's his name. I've got his last name, too, if you're interested.
Hope you are having a great time. Are you keeping a journal? I did and I'm so glad that I did because there is no way I could've remembered all that we did and we were only there two weeks. Please keep us updated.

Always, Theresa :))). And otherwise probably Anth will be.... !
Yes, I am trying to write notes on the trip, so I can connect them to the photos. So far it's going great and we are having wonderful weather too!
After Melbourne (where we arrive today) it's on to Adelaide, and then north towards Darwin.
More on all that later!

Ilse...
You'll like Darwin. It'll be warmer up there than where you've been. If I ever go back, Darwin is a definite stop I would like to make again.
Paul's last name is Winstanley...want his email?
