Anyone else have the flu this year? I guess there must be something to all those news media stories about so many people with the flu this year. My wife and I have both been fighting through it for 4-5 days now. We've never had it before, and never got the shot before. Maybe next year we'll get the shot.

Rampant here, though none of us has got it so far. I'm just praying Sophia doesn't get it. She does not need that right now!! |

It doesn't seem to have hit us here in Binghamton yet. Don't feel too silly about the flu shot, Jim. They are saying it may only be about 50% effective. Apparently the strain they made the vaccine out of is not the strain that is going around. So this could be scary.
CT-R, hope you and the wife feel better real soon.

So far, so good here. I get the flu shot every year and since I've gotten it I haven't had to miss work due to the flu...*keeping fingers crossed, though because I'm also hearing the vaccine may not be effective*.
We're not seeing absences from school yet but it usually doesn't hit down here until around February. |

Have you guys heard about the Flu Mist? Apparently it's a needleless flu shot that you inhale. Sounds a lot better than getting poked. I guess it's a little more expensive than the needle, not sure if insurance covers it yet. |

Get well soon! The flu is a miserable thing, and I am determined NOT to get it this year. I've got my supply of Vitamin C and "Coldeeze" , and I'm a regular Lady MacBeth, washing my hands again and again...... |

As far as I am concerned, that "Cold-Eeze" is the best kept secret in the country! That stuff works! My DH (who won't use it as he should) has been suffering with a really bad head cold...don't think it is the flu... and I have been taking about 1500 mg of Vit C each day to try to ward it off.
I, too, am determined! |
