"Awww heck.....OK.....no need to make reference to age. How 'bout two disparate groups - Younguns and Not-so-Younguns? How'zat??"
I just got through emailing a friend and reminding her that we aren't younguns anymore, so I guess that I will have to be in the latter group What I want to know is why I haven't seen any races like the "cane hobble" or the "rocking chair race" Those two are my specialties

"And, Carter, have I missed something? You're coming?! Perhaps we should talk about meeting up prior to. If you need transportation, we could work something out. I'm so excited!"
Me too! I can't wait to see you and meet Rich and Wilderness Woman. I'd love to follow you there! I can't stay the whole week, because I have the Wes Studi gathering to coordinate, but you bet I'm coming to see ya'll. I think I'll go to the first part of the trip. I'd do the Mohican games, but I don't want to show ya'll up. (wink) |

Carter, that is so nice of you to say, and I would love to meet you too! However, I will not be going to the Gathering. It is just not possible for me to go, for several reasons.
I know that you will have a great time, and will enjoy meeting those who do go. I'm sure that all of the "Old-time Gatherers" will make you feel right t'home! |

Glad to hear that different events in the Mohican Games are OPTIONAL!!! Yours truly will NOT be joinin' in any foot races but I will gladly fling sharp objects through the air!!! I'll just watch while everybody else runs...(Diana, remember watchin' all the runners in PAIN going up Grandfather Mountain!!!) Christina |

Yep, Christina I do - makes me hurt to think about. I DO believe some of those folks were rest home escapees, dressed as marathon runners!

That reminds me very much of pre-Gathering One "preparations," where wheel chairs & depends were staples! ... and we didn't even have Mohican Games back then!! |
