I don't know how it may be around where you are, but here in the western North Carolina mountains, we've had nothing but rain, rain, and more rain ... practically everyday. And I'm talking deluges of rain ... big thunder boomers, drenching rains.
The drought is officially over.
This is the wettest summer - any season, in fact - I can remember. Of course, being over 50, there's not much I do remember ...

Try banging your head against the wall like me,it just might stir something,LOL.Wow,I complained all winter, all spring and now the summer.Autumn?? |

Gentlemen, I understand your feelings about the rain but here we are praying for rain. For weeks we have been suffering above seasonal ( tropical) temperatures that make me look forward to fall and winter. We have forest fires burning in our National parks- it's a mess!! So please, send some cooler temps, will ya???? Pretty please???
Then again Europe is suffering from tropical temps as well. Mu cousin in Germany told me their high was 41 C...ARGHHH!! I'd melt.. |

Wait a minute! 41 degrees ain't that bad for a heat wave.Oh yeah, the celsius thing.Forgot how to convert.I think it's 32 9/5 divided by 41 and the square root of 100 minus pi 3.14 times the heat index plus the fractional part of the decimal which started all of this. |

Yes, I must say I am not a fan of global warming..WHo can take this?????
I am not good at converting . I am so used to the Celcius..i think 41 could be like the mid-nineties??? Also, most Europeans don't have Air-conditioning..How can they possibly survive this????

Since I didn't know it either, I typed into Google: Celsius to Fahrenheit, and .... drrrrrrrrrrrrrummmmmmmmmss.... 41 c = 105.8 f Brought to you by "weights and Measures" at:

Well, evening news was full of warnings, here. Drinking water getting scarce, electricity suppliers in trouble the coming week because of lack of cooling water.
And of course the most dramatic news in Dutch history ever: I managed to get the flu in this weather.... |

HOLY CRAP! And I thought it was hot here! You poor folks in Europe! A hundred and five degrees? Man! That's pretty unusual, isn't it? Ilse, I'd say chicken soup, but in that heat, you probably would rather nice, cold Dutch beer, eh? Probst! |

Well, I was going to join with Brother Jim and complain mightly about our New Yawk humidity. You know... when you can swim in the air you're attempting to pull into your lungs?
But... I guess I'll shut up and settle for the humidity... because the air temp is staying in the mid to high 80s F (that's about 30 celsius according to the dual thermometer on my front porch!) rather than the mid-100s.
*sigh* "Drat. I was really in the mood to complain, too", she said petulantly.

We're getting the same weather Rich is complaining about (we kinda face to the north and real "sudden-like", turn RIGHT and go about 5 hours from MohicanLand). I was on the NC Outer Banks last weekend and thought I was off the coast of Greenland when I stepped in the water - BURRRRR!!!! Our ocean is usually around 85 this time of year - it was 68 degrees and of course cloudy and rainy most of the time!!! Flooded roads, rain, rain, and more rain. Sun shining one minute, down-pour the next, or there is this one pesky little gray cloud that happens to follow you all over town! Usually, it's in the upper 90's to low 100's here in August with humidity 80-100 % - hot wet blanket in the face weather - forget having your hair cooperate! NOW..its in the 80's everyday (that's OK), and misty, deluge, or showery - like I said - forget the hair!
HOWEVER, hearing about the fires in the west and Canada, the heat in Europe where there is no AC, and the 120 degrees in Death Valley yesterday - I submit to having wonderful weather!!! I find it hard to complain about a road or two being closed from flooding after living through Hurricane Floyd's floods. And the power bill will be a little lighter this year! Wishing all you in the sweltering climes a break in the weather pattern!!

I would love to have a cold one right now! It's been miserable in AZ! On the average 109 and today it was 116! We welcome any rain that you would like to send our way! caitlin |

Ewww, Ilse, nothing like having the flu in the heat of summer...bummer. Here in the deep South, we are having pretty much normal weather for August...hot, humid, afternoon thundershowers/storms. Nothing like they're having in Europe....that story made the front page of our morning newspaper. Take care over there. |

Well, it looks like we traded the weather just in time. It rained again last night..Don't worry, you don't have to keep on dancing..:) I just hope that it won't heat up again..
Thanks for the good wishes..We need them...it seems like this bug is hanging on and so far my son and I had the worst summer ever..But maybe your good wishes will work just as well as your raindance...Crossing my fingers here!! |

Anthony, It is good to see that you are alive and well. I was starting to get worried, as to your whereabouts. I'm glad you are alright, and I hope the summer has been a good one for you. Good to have you active in the community again, till later my friend...

Florida,it is hot,but not as it is in other places.Atleast it was a cool, warm, breezy day today.I just hate where I have to walk from school in the early afternoon and the sun is beating down on me.But being a mile or so from school isn't bad. |
