I realized that Madelaine Stowe was the only one who was really fond of Daniel, and talked about him as a wonderfull person.
The rest of the cast describe him almost as a not kind guy.
What do you think? |

I worked on the entire production. While DDL seemed to keep to himself, he was always quick with a polite hello, nod and smile to us poor transportation/tent workers. |

Maurice Roeves (Colonel Munro) said in his interview that he was disappointed with Daniel as a person, but he declined to be more specific. Perhaps it was Daniel's distancing that caused Roeves to have a negative reaction to him. I don't think it's that Daniel sees himself as THE star, but that his manner of acting is to BE the character as deeply as he can, and not to let himself get distracted by what's going on around him. And of course Hawkeye is an intense, self-contained kind of character. |

Well Eric said in an interview that the rest of the cast got along but Daniel would pretty much film his scene and then go off by himself instead of mingling much with them. I don't think Eric was too impressed with him. I am sure he did not dislike him but he said they were like from two different worlds. I guess he thought he was the "Star" but as it turned out Uncas and Chingachkook were the stars too along with Magua. The movie would have been nothing without their great performances. |

As one who was "there," I'd say not. Nobody came across [to me, at least] as not liking DDL - though, I would think naturally, Madeleine had a more intimate connection with him. |
