There is violence depicted, though I don't know how graphic it will be on the screen. All the matchlocks were real except for a couple of rubber ones the real stunt guys carried. The illustrations in some of his writings show it looking like a scmiter (sp?) with a clip point and a very curved blade. Didn't see that on the set though. As for too many clothes on the Indians, yes and no. As Mr. Galban can attest, there was a big push to hire as many Native American extras as possible. Some of those agreed to dress authentically in just the front apron and some did not.
