Posted - March 12 2005 : 05:49:58 AM There's a book that many here might enjoy. It's called "Look To The Mountain", by LeGrand Cannon Jr., and is about life in 18th century northern New Hampshire. A true frontier at the time, - and how tough life really was for the settlers. It was first published in 1942, and has sold over one million copies, - so far. The time and setting is very similar to upstate New York during that same period. |

Posted - March 12 2005 : 09:57:35 AM Oh Wow! This is exactly the kind of book I am always on the lookout for and love to read! Thank you so much for telling us about this book, as it is one I have not heard of before.
I am off to Amazon (portaling in from this site, of course) to get me a copy right now....
P.S. I moved this topic into the Recommended Reading forum, as I felt it would be more appropriate here.
