There's a book that many here might enjoy. It's called "Look To The Mountain", by LeGrand Cannon Jr., and is about life in 18th century northern New Hampshire. A true frontier at the time, - and how tough life really was for the settlers. It was first published in 1942, and has sold over one million copies, - so far. The time and setting is very similar to upstate New York during that same period.

Oh Wow! This is exactly the kind of book I am always on the lookout for and love to read! Thank you so much for telling us about this book, as it is one I have not heard of before.

I am off to Amazon (portaling in from this site, of course) to get me a copy right now....
