Posted - October 28 2003 : 7:52:39 PM I'm not sure who the artist is, or the title of the cover image, but it looks to me to be depicting an American Revolution battle. From the uniforms and clothing like the canadian cap and fringed riflemans frock and trousers, as well as the snow, the fact that it depicts a night engagement, and the wounded American officers I'd guess the painting is depicting Quebec 1775, perhaps the death of Montgomery. But that's just an educated guess, I'd have to do some more research on the image.
If I were writing a book about the French and Indian War, I'd select a cover image which depicts the French and Indian War, not the American Revolution.
