George Edward Pickett was the General who led the famed "Pickett's Charge" not George S. Pickett. He was a womanizer in his early years but he got married to La Salle Corbell Pickett in which in this case he wouldnt have been able to be in the Ku Klux Klan because his wife was an immigrant and she was of French decent. Pickett had a love for the social life and he had high class actions. He was a Virginian until death he never left Virginia on a treck out west so Im sorry to say but the General Pickett your looking for is not associated with the General Pickett that lead the famous assualt that bares his name today. But if your still interested on looking up info on him a good place to start would be the Library of congress and the national archives. also Time-Life has a series of books entitled The Civil War and onje of the most usefull books is the book The Highwater Mark of the Confederacy which is in that series. But with the part about that he never forgave his superiors that is absolutely right. But Pickett had confidence and he thought it he was capable of pulling off the charge but he was proved wrong in thinking that his men were unbeatable and that they were well strenghtened.
