: I am amazed that  well over a decade after the archeological results were published, showing little firing by the men with Custer, that some web sites still claim hard fighting.  One says that the Calhoun men seemed to put up the most resistence, killing 17 warriors.  Obviously some pipe dream, since no warriors bodies were recovered.  The men inspecting the battlefield could not know how many Indians had been killed there, since there were no bodies.  Hell, they didn't get a solid count of the troopers lying there.
