Rick, I don't think it's an old subject, and it's one I haven't seen too much written about. My personal opinion is that Custer fought to the end. He was too much of a fighter to have committed suicide or have someone end it for him. And I agree that if he had committed suicide, it wasn't a cowardly thing to do given the era and circumstances. I just don't think he had it in his makeup to go out like that.
