I rented that version within 2 weeks of seeing Mann's version for the first time, and at that point in time, all it made me do was laugh. I couldn't get over Magua being played by Bruce Cabot or somebody like that. I do remember noticing the similar lines throughout. I'll have to watch it again, in a newly enlightened frame of mind.
Howsever, around THIS house, DDL's version of Hawkeye will always reign supreme, I'm sartain! ;o)
