Just wanted to tell you that I have found these recent *discussions* very interesting ... I have had little time to do anything on the Net & no opportunity to add my thoughts/ or engage in discussions on patriotism, nationalism, perspectives, prejudices, history, healing ceremonies, non-healing ceremonies, the formation of the American identity, things old, things new, Dutch Guilders, German Silver, emulation, frauds, flattery, flags, POA, or even apple pie, but ...

I at least wanted to say that I understand & agree with much of what you've expressed & appreciate that you've taken a lot of time to explain & re-explain your viewpoints & experiences. It was very gracious of you to do so.

I'd also add that I enjoy reading your posts & discussing issues with you because of your honesty.

PS You know how some of the *important* people in Bari, Italy deal with the ever changing political scene & power plays of the world? They keep flags for all the big boy nations in their homes. No matter who shows up in the sea, they have the right flag to wave ... they smile while saying "Che sera, che sera ... mangiamo!"
