Yes, I am quite familiar with Mr. Pohanka. When I subscribed to AOL and was a regular on their military history boards the presence Mr. Pohanka was a very welcome source of knowledge and common sense. He was more than grateful to answer questions I had on the Little Big Horn on which he is an authority. I am also familiar with his work as the researcher for the Time-Life series. He also frequently acknowledged for his help for other Civil War writers. I have read articles he has written for magazines and he did the text for Don Troiani's book.
I really enjoyed his work on "Gettysburg" where he was able to convince Ron Maxwell to include all sorts of trivial details just for history enthusiasts. It because of Pohanka that I can recognize Oliver Howard, AP Hill, Gouveneur Warren, Alonzo Cushing, Father Corby, Augustus Ellis Van Horne, and, my personal favorite, Miles Keogh in small non-speaking roles. In fact, Mr. Pohanka personally confirmed to me that was indeed supposed to be Miles Keogh when I asked on AOL to make sure that I was not imagining things.
Just though I would let you know.
