To Capt. William Caldwell
commanding the joint force
of Caldwell's and Bradt's Rangers
Sir ---
I am saddened to hear of the wounding of my Agent and friend,
Simon Girty. I trust all will be well with him.
I have dispatched the Kings forces as per your request, including the 42nd of Foot - the Black Watch.
I have also received word that Regulars, Light Infantry, Rangers, and Captain Joseph Brant's Mohawks are being sent forth to deal with this problem from all outposts upon the frontier.
I trust these traitors will be either driven off or sent to their graves before too much longer.
Do remeber, I pay handsome bounties for these traitors scalps.
YOS
Colonel Henry Hamilton
commander
Fort Detroit
and the NW Frontier
God Save The King!
