The movie.....and questions

My brothers and dad and I had a poll when we gathered last Christmas about the best movies of all time. Last of Mohicans made the top twenty easily. I understand the movie took some liberties with the book, but after reading Deerslayer I can forgive the screenwriters. I think I will still read LOM though, the descriptions and the Iroquoi culture facinate me. I went to the library and got more books on the subject. Has anyone here any resources more on the period and subject of our history?

I saw the end of something on TV a few months ago. It looked like one of the leather-stockings tales and had who I thought was Kevin Dillon as a younger Hawkeye. Do you know anything about that?
