And a funny thing about that ... Hawkeye says, "Tell him to take me ... Did you tell him?" If Duncan had translated that literally, the Hurons MIGHT have taken Duncan anyway!

: : : You must be loyal in reading those sub-titles! When Duncan translates Hawkeyes words into French, he changes it to take him (Duncan) instead. Hawkeye doesn't know he changed the words, causing the confusion when they begin to take Duncan away. NightSky

: : AT THE EXPENSE OF SOUNDING VERY IGNORANT, BUT BEING A NEWCOMER, I GUESS I'M ALLOWED:) DUNCAN NEVER TRANSLATED THOSE LAST WORDS OF HAWKEYE'S. WHEN THEY WERE STARTING TO TAKE CORA AWAY, DUNCAN ALREADY OFFERED HIS LIFE, BUT THE INDIAN CHIEF DIDN'T DO ANYTHING...THEN WHEN HAWKEYE OFFERED HIS LIFE AND ASKED DUNCAN IF HE WOULD TRANSLATE IT, DUNCAN SAID 'YES'. THE INDIAN CHIEF NODDED HIS HEAD, WHEN DUNCAN HADN'T EVEN TRANSLATED WHAT NATHANIEL SAID YET. SO, IT SOUNDS RATHER CONFUSING TO ME. WELL, I THINK I WILL GO AND READ THE SCRIPT NOW..AND THEN WATCH THAT SCENE AGAIN

: There have been posts before that Duncan translates before Hawkeye makes the statement, but I thought they were talking about the DVD. On the THX, the translation is at the appropriate time, then Hawkeye says, "did you tell him?" to which Duncan replies, "yes." NS
