: Our book on 18th century clothing says leggings can be made of linsey woolsy. Pray tell, what might that be? NightSky
Linsey woolsey is a linen/wool-mixed material, often referred to as "homespun". They were woven together to make the cloth, much like today's linen/cotton or poly/cotton blends are done.
Clothing of all sorts was made with this material in the "old days".
