Dear Courier Editors,

Due to this disastrous escalation of the so-called trade war in Mohicanland, the Dutch Trader (further referred to as DT) no longer has the time nor energy left to keep you updated. Therefore, I have taken it upon myself to relay information back and forth, and hopefully manage to exert some calming influence on all volatile personalities involved.

DT is currently working hard to strengthen the Trading Post defences. Courier readers should be advised to stay well clear from the Trading Post for now, since the place is heavily boobytrapped. Rumours are that a large shipment of landmines is expected to arrive shortly. Furthermore, and very worrying, DT has apparently managed to enlist the infamous Three Piggies for mercenary activities.

DT is not impressed with the continued existence of the French Trader. "If that bl**dy trader is so alive", she said, "then where the bl**dy h*ll is he? Have you seen or heard anything of him lately?" DT was unpleasantly surprised learning that E. Lane & Rich Fed's deal has been successful. According to her, they are "notorious troublemakers and agitators who will stop at nothing to incite a riot. Even worse, they don't stick to the rules of fair trade." DT has decided to fly in her old pal, Mr. R. Hood, Prince of Thieves, to retrieve Hawkeye and Ching's valuable possessions.

I tried to raise the subject of a possible parlay with all parties involved with DT, however this resulted in her tearing up all the curtains of the Post and trashing the rare collection of Delft Blue teacups. Perhaps the time is not yet ripe.

DT is indeed interested in the Dutch Dogon trade beads, though. She is even willing to pay with silver. That's because she has already consumed all the brandy in stock.
