: : I believe that Tantoo also had a small part in the movie Silent

: : movie (Native American theme). It played in the art house movie theaters around here.
: : It was a good story and was also the last movie that River Pheonix was in before he died. Shiela Toussey also plays in it. She was the star of Grand Avenue. You can rent it on video in our

: Yes, "Silent Tongue" was an excellent movie! Sheila Tousey's performance was outstanding. It is available up here at Video Update in the "Western" section.

Hi Rebecca
It is so great to find kindred spirits or whatever one wishes
to name friends along the path who share the same interests. I
actually bought the video version of "Silent Tongue" and show it
from time to time to friends who did not even know it extisted.
I wish there were more films being produced along these lines.
If so, it would give so many Native actors a chance to work.
The movie "Smoke Signals" is a great acheivement for actor Adam
Beach. I feel that his performance was the best of his career. It is also a great acheivement for the director. I saw his short film "Tenacity" at the Native American Film Festival in San Francisco 3 years ago. I feel he deserves an award for his first major work in film as a director. I really feel thathe got the best possible performances from most of the actors in the film. I would love some feedback as most of the folks who visit this board see the film.
Looking forward to future discourses on the film.
