I was recently watching Movie TV which was showing promo and 'the making of' material about a movie I think is called Little Tree. Tantoo plays the grandmother of a native american boy bringing him up with his native language and customs. He is then taken by authorities and put into an "Indian School" because it was illegal for him to be learning those things. The child's grandparents told him to send his messages to them through the first star! I missed the dates that it was set in but it looked like it might have been the 40's or 50's. It looked good!
