accident or not?

Maybe you guys have already tackled this one, but..... in the forest, just after leaving the Cameron's burned cabin, our intrepid heroes are almost discovered as their enemy advances.
(mmmm, sure woulda loved to have been J. May in that scene).
Is it just me, or does Waddington trip? I'm not sure what Duncan was doing - seemed that he was trying to gain a tactical position, but oops! trips, and just decides he should remain where he is.

I love the book, but I'm afraid I love the film more so (the book doesn't have Schweig on the cover). Soundtrack is incredible! My Japanese students (mostly older adults) really liked it - good thing facial expressions are universal.
