In addition to Victoria's good selection, we'd like to add a couple more ... actually, we may have mentioned these elsewhere on this site, but here goes anyway:

For THE definitive study of what really happened at Fort William Henry you must read Ian K. Steel's BETRAYALS (Oxford University Press 1990).

A first hand account of the times from a French perspective is ADVENTURES IN THE WILDERNESS ... The American Journals of Louis Antoine de Bouganville, 1756-1760 (University of Oklahoma Press 1990) - This book comes complete with voice over!! (only kidding ...)

And then, there's ON THE TRAIL OF THE LAST OF THE MOHICANS ... An Explorer's Guide To The Film's Sites by ... HEY that's us! (A very shameless plug!! - Sorry!)
