Frank,

You expressed my view exactly; thank you!! Crook trusted Colonel Reynolds to command the attack when he should not have!! I went to the battlefield in the late 1980's and found about 30 to 40 artifacts on private land (thanks to the owner then)! Since it is the first battle of the 1876 Indian Wars, I find it extremely interesting in regards to the result.
