He was probably best-known as Maj. Charles Emerson Winchester III, but I'm posting this here because he was known for his Disney movie voice acting as well:
I never get tired of hearing any of the programs he narrated for PBS, (episodes of The American Experience, NOVA, Ric Burns's New York, Chicago) and probably a few things I haven't found yet. He also narrated audiobooks.
I first saw him on M*A*S*H* and the first time I heard his normal speaking voice, I freaked out!
I saw him on MASH a number of times - played that role (Winchester III) perfectly. Today, 75 is not so old ... a shame. Bladder cancer took my brother - tough problem to beat.
