OK, OK ... I KNOW that there are many folks out there in Internet-land - not just in Mohicanland - who just HATE music on a web page. Unfortunately, for those people, I am not one of them - depending on the music, of course. One thing - the exact same midi file can sound vastly different from one computer to the next, depending on the quality of the sound card and the speakers. The richness, tone, and overall quality can really change one's mind, one way or the other.
Anyway, through the years, I have received complaints about "dueling soundtracks" ... the same music playing more than once similtaneously. Not good. Eight years ago, I discussed a resolution in this thread: http://www.mohicanpress.com/messageboard/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=774 - pretty much outdated now.
It is usually caused by more than one player playing the file. More often than not, Quick Time is the second player. If this is the case, open the QT player.
Go to: EDIT ---> PREFERENCES ---> QUICKTIME PREFERENCES ---> AUDIO Then, be sure that the choice [at the bottom of the QT window] where it says, "Default Music Synthesiser" is set to: GENERAL MIDI.
That will shut the little bugger up!
