Sittin' here fiddlin' on my computer and thinking of Gatherings past and the one going on right now, as we speak. Popped my LOTM DVD [European version - theatrical cut] in my drive as an experiment. It PLAYED!
Backtracking - bought a new system about 2 weeks ago. Whoa Baby!!! Fast, powerful, whisper quiet, room galore, vivid image, crisp, clear sound, fast Internet, wireless keyboard and mouse [awesome] ... just a grand machine!! The monitor is a 23" flat-panel HD beauty.
Anyway, obviously, the DVD is NOT in HD, but I just gotta tell you ... it looked just magnificant on that HD monitor. Best I ever saw the movie look - and I've "looked" at it a lot. After probably over a year, it was great to see it again, along with all those fantabulous locations where many of us shared so many outstanding adventures. The movie itself feels like a good old friend! 
Hope everyone at this year's Gathering is having a swell time RIGHT NOW.
Can't wait for the BluRay version now ... All-New Director's Definitive Cut
