Ok, fans ... there seems to be a wee bit of discontent over the color scheme around here ...

I already know that I have no taste, and I very well may be COLOR blind, too, but honestly, to me, at this end, it looks perfectly fine! Really!

BUT, it's no big deal for me to click a few buttons & change the scheme. You want psychedelia back? Just give the word! Or, anything ... let me know. It couldn't hurt - too much - to give it a try.

As is, the Board is, to me, at least, earth tones - colors called "wheat," "blanched almond," and "Indian red," among others [I think there's one more].

Your wish is my command - just give the word!

Rich, I happen to be an "earthy-color" person myownself. I have no problem with the colors you've gone with. The only color, to me, that doesn't fit is that fuschia folder you got there. But it's so tiny, even I can live with it. I have a very good friend who paints and she told me once you can't go wrong when you use the colors of nature. So, from here, it looks just fine.

YEAHHHHHHHHHH! I like, I like! The folder colors that is! I must admit that I like Theresa am perfectly fine with the current colors...way better than the initial option!

You are such an accommodating fellow! Uhhhhh, you don't have a spell check you could throw in there do ya? I know, I'm grown and should know how to spell and I would still confuse the hears with the heres and the theres and theirs, but a gal can use all the help she can get ya know!

Oh, dear! It seems I am in the minority here. I don't mind the pale yellow color (wheat?) and the "indian red" seems to be OK, but it's that bright orange one (blanched almond?) that gives me a headache. Can you change just one color, or do you have to redo the whole thing? Something a little more soothing for the old eyes would be nice, if it's not too complicated.

Glad you like the folder color! Actually, that's something that I didn't have control over - in the management section of this board - that was just their default color. But then, my brain kicked in and I realized I could simply open the icon in Paint Shop Pro & colorize ... Spell Checker, eh? None around that I know of, but will keep me eyes peeled!

Hi, Rich,

I just wanted to say that the new Board seems to be evolving very nicely, with more & more improvements each time I visit. You are obviously working very hard & you are to be commended for that! It's not like you have nothing else to do right now, what with the Gathering a little more than one week away!

As you can see, I'm beginning to get the hang of using the Smileys, but I'm still having trouble making my quotes come out right! I thought that all I needed to do was to use a bracket and then insert the quote in between and end it with another bracket, but that doesn't seem to be working for me! So, I thought I would ask the expert: How do I make my quotes look nice & neat, like everyone else is doing? I would like to keep up the integrity & quality of posts on the Board, you see!

Thanks for your help,

Diane B.

As for the quote thing - the proper way is: quote][/quote (I left the first & last bracket off intentionally. Otherwise, it comes out as a quote rather than the text!

You can do that one of three ways: type it manually, use the icon found right above the post you want to quote from [that automatically puts the entire post in quotes. You'll need to edit out any that you don't want to appear.], or, you can use icon that is found along the tool bar in the post field as you are posting. It looks like this:

[OK, Junior, is that any better?]

The colors are much better, Rich. My eyes thank you (as do I).
I'm sure that one day I'll love this board as much as I loved the old one, but at the moment, IT'S DRIVING ME CRAZY!
I can't find Elaine's note that I wanted to respond to, but anyway, "Elaine, I know you're out there somewhere. I'm so looking forward to seeing you again." Just wanted you to know how much I appreciated your note.
:o)

WHOA!! NOW I'VE GOT THAT BRIGHT ORANGE I THINK CHRIS WAS TALKING ABOUT.. It's running across the "Author/Topic" heading bar. I thought it might be a "Blazing-Hot-Summer's-Here" theme. Not complaining, mind you, just FYI. Now, where are those shades?

No, no, no, Theresa ... that's not the ORANGE that Chris was seeing [I'm not sure what was, exactly ... must be a mushroom thing ...]

What you, and everybody else, is seeing NOW, is this:

Repeated, of course, as a background. It's an image found throughout our site, and has been, since Day One! Got those LOTM poster colors ...

Anyway, yes, it's a shocker ... on the one hand, I like it. It brightens things up ... a bit, eh? On the other ... well ... I don't know. For now, it stays as it lays. When Jo sees it, she'll let me know ...

Whew!! Thought something wierd was going on...well, wierder than normal !! Okay, the color is indeed a little bright but it's a tolerable bright. It really doesn't matter to me. Keeping us on our toes, though, aren't you?
