Even though the following involves the two (2) recent stories in the news, the reason for its posting here is how both were reported, and more importantly, why...
Story #1 The Facts: On Sunday 31 May 09, Dr. George TILLER was attending his church (Reformation Lutheran Church) in Wichita (KS) for a morning service when he was murdered, via multiple gunshot wounds. The suspect, identified as one Scott P. ROEDER (W/M/51 YOA) of Merriam (KS), was apprehended by law enforcement later that same day. Mr. ROEDER had been a member in both the anti-government group, 'The Freemen' in the 1990's, and more recently he had an active membership with the anti-abortion group, 'Operation Rescue'. The motivation for Mr. ROEDER's assault and murder of Dr. TILLER was due to the fact of the victim being a late-term abortion provider (all abortion-providing physicians are the antithesis of the anti-abortion movement, but the ones who provide late-term abortions of a viable fetus are placed in even greater contempt by these groups)
How The Media Reported Story #1: Not suprisingly, there was a great 'wailing and gnashing of teeth' to be heard throughout the 'mainstream' media. A number of full-feature stories were run in both the print and television media, where Mr. Roeder was labeled a 'terrorist' (even though such charges were not levied) in more than one instance, and a great deal of attention was given to his membership in groups like 'The Freemen' and 'Operation Rescue' as well as his ownership of firearms (that way the Cultural-Marxists could attack three of their foes; anti-government, anti-abortion and individual gun owners).
On the other hand, the media pointed out how Dr. Tiller was a family man, a caring doctor, a devout church member (all of which were true), while at the same time avoiding the topic of the late-term abortions he performed (and how that such a proceedure is performed, might cause even the most sensible person reason to feel disgust).
President Obama even commented on the murder of Dr. Tiller, correctly stating that such acts should not be tolerated.
Sarge's Assesment Of Story #1: Professionaly speaking, it is obvious to me that what Mr. Roeder did was in fact pre-meditated murder, and he should recieve the death penalty for such an act. Personally I believe that Mr. Roeder should burn in Hell for taking this man from his family and community, but I also believe that he should be joined there by Dr. Tiller for his murder of so many innocent babies. (an estimated 60,000+, of which many were viable late-term, during his career, and it made him a millionaire)
Story #2 The Facts: On Monday 01 June 09, U.S. Army Privates William LONG and Quenton EZEAGWULA were performing their assigned duties at the Army & Navy Recruiting Depot in Little Rock (AR), when they were assaulted, and sustained multiple gunshots wounds. The rounds were fired by a lone actor, shooting from outside of the building. Pvt. LONG died as a result of the attack, and Pvt. EZEAGWULA recovered from his injuries. The suspect, one Abdul Hakim Mujahid MUHAMMAD aka Carlos BLEDSOE (B/M/24 YOA) was later aprehended by law enforcement. During the interview process, the actor (Mr. MUHAMMAD) stated that he had recently converted to Islam and had attacked the two soldiers because of his disapproval of the U.S. Army's actions against muslims. It was also noted that Mr. MUHAMMAD was being watched by the FBI due to his future plans of travel to Yemen.
Both President Obama, and the Pentagon have made no comment of the attack on two of our nation's soldiers, and the murder of one of them.
How The Media Reported Story #2: None of the 'mainstream' television media even covered this story on Monday night (where they were all still fawning over the life of Dr. Tiller), and on Tuesday evening they only mentioned it as a follow-on after more memorials to the late Dr. Tiller, with NBC giving it a few seconds longer. Only Fox News covered this story with the same level of reporting that they had also given to the Tiller Murder.
Of the 'mainstream' print media, only USA Today mentioned the fact of Mr. Muhammad's coversion to Islam, and how it motivated him to commit such a heinous act. None of the 'mainstream' media (print & TV) mentioned this attack as an act of 'Terrorism', even though Mr. Muhammad was charged with fifteen (15) counts of it.
Sarge's Assesment Of Story #2: Professionaly speaking, what Mr. Muhammad (aka Carlos Bledsoe) did was also an act of pre-meditated murder, and he should receive the death penalty for that as well. I find the 'mainstream' media's lack of coverage in this case to be typical of their kind, albeit absolutely shameless. I think that President Obama's silence on the death of Pvt. Long to be particularly disgusting, due to his position as Commander-In-Chief.(perhaps it is his 'muslim roots' that prohibited comment, or the fact that he was busy 'schmoozing' the Islamic World, and such things might upset his 'new' friends)
How can this so-called 'leader' make a sympathetic comment on the criminal murder of a baby-killer, but remain silent on the death of an honorable soldier at the hands of an Islamic Terrorist?
In Summary: Once again we see the true colors of the Cultural Marxists in both the media and the government. I feel sympathy for the loss incured by the families of both victims, and I have special message for the family of Pvt. William Long (U.S. Army - KIA); that being a wish for your complete healing during this time of grievous loss, and to have some small comfort in knowing that God now has another brave young warrior to guard the Gates of Heaven.

As often, you are right, MG. There hasn't been a truly mainstream media since before 1968, when that 'Grand-Old Hack' Walter Cronkite determined that the war in Vietnam was 'lost'. Nevermind the fact that this was after we just got done beating the snot-out-of the NVA, and their VC compatriots, and stopping their failed Tet Offensive. But then again, since when do the 'Lefties' let something trivial like the facts get in the way of their beliefs, or their KGB 'handlers'. (as was the case on many a university campus in America, during those years)
All I can say is thank God for Fox News...

| The combined coverage/lack of coverage of those 2 stories should prove media bias, beyond all reasonable doubt, to anyone who has open eyes. Media bias leads to controlled thought of the masses, which, in turn, leads to desired results at the polls. Yes, a simplification, but the truth is, the majority of folks believe what they see on TV. Period. |

Sachem, you are absolutely on-target. The only thing more disgusting than this shameless display of bias from the 'state-run' media, was the boorish conduct displayed by our all too obtuse president. This is very much the truth, and the 2008 Presidential Election proved it conclusively. John Ziegler commisioned Zogby International to conduct a poll on Election Day, and the results showed a serious gap between the McCain and Obama voters when gauged by their knowledge of statements and scandals associated with the presidential tickets during the campaign (with the McCain voters being far more savvy, of course). The story did have some interesting facts, and a few I will mention here:
1) 83% failed to correctly answer that Obama had won his first election by getting all of his opponents removed from the ballot.
2) 56% were also not able to correctly answer that Obama started his political career at the home of two former members of the Weather Underground.
3) 72% of Obama voters did not correctly identify Biden as the candidate who had to quit a previous campaign for President because he was found to have plagiarized a speech.
4) 57% of Obama voters were unable to correctly answer that the Democrats controlled both the House and the Senate since 2006.
Those numbers say more than enough about your average Obama voter, as well as the effect that the 'mainstream' media had on their logic/decision-making skills.

***THREAD UPDATE***
As of today's date, 12 June 2009, there has been still no official comment from the Commander-In-Chief (President Barack Hussein Obama), and no calls for a 'special' investigation from his Attorney General Eric Holder, in regards to the death of Pvt. William Long (US Army - KIA). There is also still no 'hue and cry' from the so-called 'mainstream' media against the silence from 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, which is becoming a national disgrace. I guess they are still too busy fawning over the life of Dr. Tiller, to notice the death of a brave young American soldier, who was killed in action by an Islamic Terrorist.
However, President Obama did speak-out on the shameful murder of the young security guard at the Holocaust Museum (as he should have done so), and he called for a national effort against Anti-Semitism, wherever it shows its vile 'head'. I am in full agreement with the President on this, and I think he should start by going after noted Anti-Semites like Islamic Terrorists, and the Reverend Wright!
