http://www.acsa2000.net/cain2004.org/Dine-Navajo-PressRelease.htm

A public research website: http://www.cain2008.org has brought together diverse historical elements of factual proof that Senator John McCain's was the key "point man" introducing, enacting and enforcing law that removed Dineh-Navajo Families from their reservation on the Black Mesa in Arizona. The McCain revised law relocated them to Church's Hill, Nevada (a Nuclear Waste Superfund Site, called "the New Lands" in PL 93-531). The Dineh-Navajo, a deeply spiritual and peaceful people, engaged in only peaceful resistance to being moved off lands they'd owned since 1500 A.D. Nonetheless, the Public Press and UN depicted brutalization, rights deprivation and forcible relocation.

Well there's two sources I'd bet my life on! Hmmm. . .I wonder which one is further left.

yup. so let's pretend there is zero truth to this story because we don't like the source. it's easy to dismiss just about anything you don't want to hear if you play that game. maybe if fox news reported it?

Hello Seamus, good to see you back. - It does make a difference who reports things - unfortunately. The media in general has a - let's say fondness for Obama. In fact during the primaries that was one of Hillary's chief complaints - how the media portrayed Obama. She couldn't get a fair shake - and I'd say she was "right-on". I won't pretend it bothered me, it didn't - but she was right. As we all know, this is a major election year, - and hit pieces are all over the place. Everyone has a point of view - and a "left leaning" reporter (most are) isn't about to treat McCain better than Hillary. ... A generation ago (or more) there was a tad more balance than today - but these days most outfits don't even try to hide their bias. Whether it's Fox or CNN, CBS, NBC etc. .... Hope all is well Seamus - stop by more often. ;)

No one said it's being dismissed or that there's zero truth to the story. But you can lose a lot of interest with a title. The point is if you want to enlighten people about an issue and you know there are people of all political persuasions who post on this board, you may want to choose a title other than "Why does McCain hate. . ." That title is pretty threatening to those who like McCain. Then to use the public press and the UN as sources . . . well, the only people who are going to be persuaded of anything are those who don't need persuading. A kindler, gentler approach would probably work better.
