I wish I could.

Those of you who have spouses or boy/girl friends... be extra nice to them tonight. You may not have them tomorrow.

Happy Valentine's Day guys. Those who are lucky enough to have someone treasure them.

There are easier things in life then trying to find a good guy..... Nailing jelly to a tree for example.

I did. I took my new fusil to the range and shot some this afternoon. Love that gun!!! I even had a burger made from a deer taken in New York State (between Binghamton and Syracuse). A good Valentines day!!!

It was! Very lean but still juicy, and no "wild" taste. The may who brought the meat said it is different from the meat in SC, probably because of the way the deer feed in NY. So five of us sat around the oven made from an old 55 gal. drum, under our tin-roofed shelter, eating bambi-burgers, while taking a break from shooting flintlocks. The best Valentines Day in a long time.

And that, ladies, is the way 99% of the men in America really feel about Valentine's Day. The only thing that could change that focus for a few minutes would be something like a slinky, sexy, red Teddy. And I don't mean a bear!

Women say we are not sensitive? Wrong!!! I could feel the recoil of that gun all the way into my shoulder.

And as an added bonus, after eating all that bambi I was too stuffed to go out for dinner last night, so I stayed home and watched Survivor - Micronesia or whatever it's called. It was a good day!!!

Ditto Fitz, sounds like a great day. Unfortunately our range is closed. The berms are frozen solid, and the club's concerned about ricochets going to unwelcome & unintended locations. ... WW, - everything has it's price. ... ;)

Oh, I wasn't shootin' at ya, Fitz, if that's what you meant. Nor was I accusing any of you men of being insensitive. I was accusing y'all of being unromantic! There is a big difference! Face it.... Valentine's Day is a woman's "holiday." It's women who want all the sweet, lovely things... not the men, who could care less. It's just up to the men to give them... if they know what's good for 'em!

A dog, Obi? I think that is a very sweet gift, if that is what she wanted.

MG... not sure what you mean by that remark. Care to explain?

I wasn't going to enter this conversation at all, as I find Valentine's Day to be a rather ridiculous holiday. (My husband shows me lots of love everyday, not just once a year!) But, WW, you are making it really hard for me to keep my mouth shut. . .perpetuating the myth that Valentine's Day is a holiday for men to give things and women to get them. As you know, I'm sure, if you give first (especially if you give what he wants) you can get almost anything you want. And I strongly recommend giving first more often than just once a year.

You are very fortunate.

I meant that is the way many men and women perceive it to be. In general, women like the holiday... men don't. Yes, women give gifts to their men, but from my observation, many men would just as soon see the whole thing go away.

Again, if this works well for you, you are very, very fortunate. So terribly many women are not so lucky.

Excellent words for all of us, both men and women, to live by.
