Can you believe it's just three days till Christmas? I certainly can't, so I've been decorating my teeny-tiny (foot-tall) tree and listening to Christmas music to get me into the holiday spirit.

Now I'm wondering: what's everyone else's favorite Christmas song or CD? What music just makes you feel like it's Christmas?

My favorite is a CD called "Martini Merry Christmas." I love love LOVE classic jazz (Ella Fitzgerald, Louis Armstrong, etc.), and this CD is both jazzy and Christmasy . . . perfect! It also has a swing version of the "Heat Miser" song by Big Bad Voodoo Daddy that's really cute.

Anybody else?

I'm a fan of all types of music; but I happen to own & love some "ancient" cassete tapes of Christmas music by various country artists that are very near & dear to my heart. For example: You can't beat the harmonies of The Gatlin Brothers & their versions of some all-time Christmas favorites are just awesome! Lee Greenwood's rendition of "Oh Holy Night" is another favorite. The award-winning group Alabama did some great covers of classic Christmas tunes, as well!

Going still further back in time, who DOESN'T love Bing Crosby's "White Christmas"???!

And I know I'm showing my age here, but I will always love the songs from John Denver's album, "Rocky Mountain Christmas."

Great topic, RedFraggle! Let's hope we hear from more of our friends in Mohicanland on this subject...

Mannheim Steamroller's Christmas Extraordinaire is my favorite, although all of their Christmas albums are great.

I hate to say it, Diane, but I don't like Bing Crosby's White Christmas and I'm not much younger than you. It just goes to show it's not an age thing, but a preference thing.

I love all traditional Christmas music. The Montavani Orchestra did a superb album many years ago. That is still my favorite.

I can't decide between "Snoopy's Christmas" and "Feliz Navidad."

Favorite Christmas music, well I really don't tend to listen to Christmas music much unless whilst driving in the car it happens to come on. I just love traditional Christmas carols like "Silent Night" and "Jingle Bells". Must admit I do like the funny songs like "Grandma Got Run Over By A Reindeer".

I love this song, too. Another favorite contemporary Christian Christmas song is Amy Grant's "Breath Of Heaven", also called "Mary's Song." What a beautiful, poignant song! If you haven't heard it, you may be able to find it on YouTube. Do a search on the lyrics, as well. They are beautiful, even without the music.

As for the more traditional Christmas music, I tend to like the older classical songs, such as "Bring A Torch Jeanette Isabella", "What Child Is This?" (the Renaissance tune of Greensleeves), "Good King Wenceslas" and "Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring."

Oh, and... I agree, Rich. Go Bing!

My favorite Christmas albums of all time were "The Bells of Dublin" from I think 1992 or '93 which included the Chieftains accompanying a variety of pop artists on traditional and original Christmas music. Among the more hilarious and interesting were Elvis Costello's original "St. Stephen's Day Murders" about how to deal with annoying family members who won't leave on the day of Christmas. There also was a gorgeous cover of "Once in Royal David's City."

Aside from that I'm a big fan of humorous holiday music. Bob Rivers does a version of Porky Pig singing "Blue Christmas" that has made even my friends with the worst cases of holiday depression laugh.

I purchased two CDs of bagpipe Christmas music this year.

Most carols sound good played on the pipes.

I just love the bagpipes. My brother-in-law has been playing them for years and any music sounds good on the pipes especially everyone's and my own personal favorite "Amazing Grace".
