Hello everyone,

I know it is quite a while from now, but every year, me and my friends put together a haunted tour around my house for Halloween. But, this year, we're doing something a bit differently. We're putting on a Pirates of the Carribean performance. And like previous years, it'll be a fun and exciting tour around my house with lights, music, fog machines, tiki torches, the whole shabang! We've even written our own script full of our favorite movie moments that work perfectly around our own storyline.

I will be portraying Captain Jack Sparrow. I've been working on the accent and everything and nearly have it down pat. My only obstacle is getting a decent, accurate costume together without blowing alot of money. It's not like the requirements that are met with reenacting, but I still like to remain accurate. If there's any help that I could receive in getting a decent costume together, I'd highly appreciate it! I already have a pretty good tricorn hat and I have a friend making the Sparrow wig for me.

I also have two 3' by 5' feet pirate flags to hang.

So, any help, again, I'd be most thankful!

All the best,
Wade

Oh, and here's a photo of me before I went out to watch the midnight premiere showing of Pirates of the Carribean: At World's End.

If you know someone who sews, there's a reasonably Jack Sparrow-ish costume pattern that you can order for $9.95 from Simplicity patterns. Picture here:

(You could also find this pattern at a craft store like Joann's Fabric.) With the pattern, materials, and findings, you'd probably be looking at $50-$60 to make the costume, depending on what fabrics you bought and how on-sale they were.

Good luck!

Well, methinks Young Wade should take this good opportunity to sew his own costume! Develop the skills with a needle and thread that every young man should have.

Savy?
