I can really appreciate a loving wife taking care of a disabled husband. I know that I would never have made it after my motorcycle accident if my wife hadn't been there for all those weeks (which is a far cry from 19 years, I know, but still...). BTW, on June 20, we will celebrate our 38th anniversary! |

This is a lovely story of true love, indeed. My hat is really off to that lady.
But there was something in that article that I found far more interesting, and that is this statement: "He said he vaguely recalled the family gatherings he was taken to while in a coma and his wife and children trying to communicate with him."
This appears to be proof that some people who are in a coma are aware of what is happening, and can hear people talking to them. It is cases such as this one that may help the medical world to more fully understand what a coma is and how to successfully treat the person to enable them to come back to full consciousness. This would be wonderful. |
"It is more deeply stirring to my blood than any imaginings could possibly have been." |

Kay that's a great post. Talk about not giving up on your partner - doesn't describe it. Then WW sees another side - and a damn good one. Now, on top of what you both see, which is "right on" - is the change that during his coma, the financial/political system did a 180* turn. Away from Communism and into a free market system, which has provided stores full of goods, of all kinds, and a better life for all. |
