I'm sure ya'll have heard of the movie Pathfinder (Karl Urban, Russell Means)...American Indians, Vikings, swords, blood & gore...right down my alley! However, I'm beginning to doubt any of us will ever see the darned thing! Originally, it was to have been realeased in July 2006! That date was changed to January 2007!! Now I see the "official" release date has beeen bumped back to April 27, 2007!!! What's next, "direct to video?"

Was this movie already released in Europe or something? IMDB already has viewer comments about the acting and editing, none of which seem to be very positive.

Too bad . . . I always liked Karl Urban, from his days on Xena (yes, I admit, I watched it, okay? ) to LOTR. I always thought he'd have made a better Achilles than Brad Pitt--but maybe that's just 'cuz Brad Pitt annoys me.

Sorry. I really know how to get off topic!

But I'll probably end up seeing Pathfinder. There. Back on track!

I reckon it was released in Europe already RF. The review from the guy in Moscow on IMDB talks about the US release date being delayed. I found some release info at http://www.eofftv.com/p/pat/pathfinder_2006_main.htm
quote:

2006
September
8: USA - theatrical release
22: UK - theatrical release

October
4: Belgium - theatrical release
5: Netherlands - theatrical release
13: Estonia - theatrical release
25: France - theatrical release
27: Finland - theatrical release

November
2: Germany - theatrical release

Let's hope it's not delayed anymore... sounds like it'd be a good movie to see; once it makes it's way down here that is!

Off track slightly... but anyways, I did an ebay search and found a movie titled "The Pathfinder"... it's a '96 made for tv movie, which is about our beloved Natty Bumpo. Hadn't heard of this one before, but looks like it'd be worth a watch as well. The ebay details have this to say:
quote:
During the French and Indian Wars, the legendary woodsman known as The Pathfinder (or Natty Bumppo), along with his adoptive Indian father Chingachgook and the beautiful Mabel Dunham, becomes involved in an attempt to rescue a besieged British fort. Adapted from the 1840 novel by James Fenimore Cooper, one of the author's "Leatherstocking Tales."

Credits
Cast: Graham Greene, Jaimz Woolvett, Kevin Dillon, Laurie Holden, Russell Means, Stacy Keach, Stephen Russell

You have no idea how relevant this particular line is to most of my life! I should always be working, yet . . . . Well, I'm posting on this board for about the fourth time today. 'Nuff said!

As far as Pathfinder goes, I had the same thought about the Natty Bumppo series. Maybe I'll have to check that one out too.

I always remember the saying "A man works from sun to sun, a woman's work is never done." I SO know what that means!!! Just look at you - working at midnight!! We women have to fit the fun in whenever (and wherever) we can, don't we?!

Okay- so I love all things James Fenimore Cooper but I have to warn anyone about to watch the Pathfinder with Kevin Dillon that it is a real dog. If you love the novel or are expecting something even close to Mann's LOTM be prepared to be disappointed.

I second that emotion, Susquesus! That movie was BAAAD....if you were expecting nothing from it, you'd be disappointed. Why do they even bother....?

Oooh . . . thanks for the info. Maybe I'll skip the Pathfinder miniseries after all! And I'm glad to see I'm not the only Cooper fan around here.
