I wasn't completely sure where to post this, but since it does relate to movies...

I subscribe to "Blockbuster Online" (their competition to Netflix). Blockbuster always sends me an email when they send out something new. Here's the subject line of their latest email, "Blockbuster has shipped From Hell." Oooooh-kay, don't they have a distribution center that's closer?

BTW, I would only give this movie a C+. For those of you who are (fortunately) unaware of this movie, it's about Jack the Ripper. The costumes seem pretty accurate for 1888 but the streets of Whitechapel are way too clean. Go ahead & watch it if you want to be really depressed.

It did have its good points...good atmosphere, good acting, absinthe with laudanum (!)...and some not-so-good points...the mish-mash of Ripper theories, the color of Heather Graham's hair , somewhat slow plot development.

Hey IG! I'm surprised you watched it! It's not exactly one of those "sappy love stories!" OTOH, no car chases or explosions, either!

And I thought it was bad when I had to wait for a Netflix movie to come to North Carolina from Nevada!

As for From Hell, I kinda liked it. It did seem unnecessarily gritty at times, though, like when that one woman gets her throat cut in the alley. Ewwwwww!

But I guess this film was adapted from a graphic novel. That would explain it.

Johnny Depp's a plus, though. I have to agree with that.
