Happy New Year to all!

I thought many of you would be interested in seeing pictures of Dana's powderhorn - made by Bill Rooks. He started it before Dana died, and "something" was urging him to complete it before Christmas this year...perhaps a feeling that Dana wanted to give her family a Christmas gift! He sent it my way, and I delivered it to Dana's family on the 22nd. They were truly touched by the gift and want to keep it as a family treasure to pass on to Dana's sons someday. I think Bill's work is beautiful, and his choice of words are perfect.

Here's to Dana - may we all remember her exuberance and enthusiastic spirit!

Thanks for sending the pictures Jayne. I am sure that Dana's sons will teasure the powderhorn. Bill did a wonderful job on it. It is beautiful!!! Just as beautiful as I am sure that Dana was. She had to be special for everybody to remember her so fondly!!!

Love,
Kay

I never met Dana but the pics were enough to shed a few tears. My condolances to her family.

I live in my own little world - but that's okay, they know me here!

Jayne, Thanks for sharing the pictures and story. Bill did a great job on this and I'm sure Dana's family appreciates his efforts and yours as well.

And a big thank you to Rich for providing me Jayne's contact information. Without that, it would not have been possible.

God bless and keep Dana, and her family, until we can all reform the Gathering circle with her again.

May you all have a happy and successful 2007

I know I haven't been around Mohicanland lately, but want to say Happy New Year to everyone and wish you all the best. I wasn't able to get to Jayne's to see the powder horn before she delivered it to Dana's family, so thanks Jayne for posting the pictures. Special thanks to Bill for such a beautiful treasure for Dana's family to remember her by. I think of Dana often, especially whenever I see a bright yellow Splash truck go by. I also think often of everyone else in Mohicanland, even though I don't seem to get here much these days. Am looking forward already to Gathering 2008!
