Has anyone besides me seen this movie? I thought it was perhaps the best JB flick made.
AND I'm really surprised that none of our lovely (mega-posting) ladies have drooled all over their keyboard about Daniel Craig yet...
On a (sorta) related note, Eva Green puts all the women in LOTM to shame!

I really want to see this movie, but I can't talk my other half into going to see it with me.
I think he's afraid I'll do a little drooling over Daniel Craig myself. All my girlfriends who have seen the movie have told me ALL about the now-famous "bathing suit scene."
Hmmm...I gotta see this movie! |

Torture? Crap...I hate torture scenes. I guess I'll have to brave it somehow. I'll just close my eyes and think about the "bathing suit scene" the whole time.
Totally unrelated: I just got rejected when I tried to submit this message! I guess you have to wait "120 seconds" between postings. Who knew?!?

Whoopie! Tomorrow, 3/13, Casino Royale will be released on DVD. Now all you ladies can see Daniel Craig not only in his Speedos, but buck naked...of course he's tied to a chair, getting his huevos scrambled! |

I am SO renting this movie tomorrow, even though I did manage to see it on the big screen over Christmas. Scrambled huevos or not, Mr. Bond sure looks hot in that chair!
My favorite part about that scene? When the bad guy says "You've taken good care of your body, Mr. Bond." My thoughts exactly. Well, almost.
Aside from the naked chair scene, I did think Casino Royale was probably the best Bond movie since the days of Sean Connery. I never thought much of Roger Moore or Timothy Dalton as James Bond. Pierce Brosnan was OK, but his Bond movies were pretty cheezy. Plus, they featured such "talented" starlets as Denise Richards and Halle Berry, two of my least favorite "actresses" ever. Eva Green was SO much better than Brosnan's Bond babes.
Like I said, I'm definitely renting it! |

Me too Red. I have seen those clips of Daniel Craig coming out of the water in those tight trunks and that great bod of his. My mouth was watering big time and my eyes popping out of my head.
Obi, DC buck naked and tied to a chair, now that's my kind of movie.....yummy........
Oh Red, I loved Sean Connery as Bond but hated Roger Moore. Never saw Pierce as Bond since I stopped watching the Bond movies years ago but I do like Timothy Dalton and loved him as Bond and since you watch "Rome" he played JC in the mini-series "Cleopatra" a couple of years ago. I loved him as Ceasar and I own the movie. Have you seen that one? Billy Zane plays Mark Antony in this one. Definitely worth a watch.
Gave up on Bond years ago but renting this movie just to see Daniel Craig. Those tight blue trunks are work the rental....heehee |

That 'tied to the chair scene' ain't quite no 'yummy' while he's screaming in mortal agony...
Personally, I thought T. Dalton made a pretty good Bond. I've only seen small parts of that Roger Moore ** ** He was really lousy as JB. Connery wasn't too bad, especially considering what he had to work with--those old flics were some of cheesiest ever filmed!
...come to think of it, ol' Roger has been really lousy is just about anything he's done! |

I forgot about that one. I did see "Cleopatra" when it was on TV long ago, and I recall liking it. I have a bad memory for movies, though, and I don't even remember Timothy Dalton being in it. Maybe I was too busy being distracted by Billy Zane's Mark Antony? BZ was kind of a heartthrob for a while. Now he just looks scary, with the shaved head and porn-star 'stache. Ew!
I guess I don't dislike Timothy Dalton. (He was pretty good as Mr. Rochester in the 70's BBC version of "Jane Eyre.") It's just that I've only seen him in roles played by other actors too, and I tend to like the other actors' versions better. Ciaran Hinds made a better Caesar and Rochester, if you ask me. And Daniel Craig makes a better Bond in oh so many ways! |

I just loved Timothy Dalton as Mr Rochester. I watched that version of "Jane Eyre" a few years ago and I fell in "love" with his character. He was perfect for the part. That was a very good series.
I agree about Ciaran Hinds as Ceasar. He was fantastic as are all the actors and actresses in "Rome". Such talent in one show is amazing.
I loved Billy Zane too back in the day. I saw him in "Dead Calm" and then I loved him in "Titanic" even though he was a cad. I just kept thinking if I was Rose I would have stayed with him instead of going with Jack but hey that was just me. Leo never did anything for me in the "lust" department. |

Woohoo! Guess we're going to get it via Netflix tomorrow, so I'll be sure to let you know what we think. Looking forward to the beach scene... though I'm sure my hubby's eyes will be elsewhere gender-wise! just kidding - all's fair in just looking |

| I watched most of it last night but still have the ending to see. It was almost midnight so sleep was getting the better of me when I turned it off. I will try and watch the ending tonight. Anyways, I love this Bond. Daniel Craig is just great in this role. I loved his "Bond" portrayal and what a bod indeed. Whew...than man must have worked out hard to achieve such a great physique. The naked chair scene was definitely different. Talk about torture, still it did not seem to leave any lasting injuries as he was back to "business" before too long. Great action scenes and watching all that running and jumping at the start of the movie I was thinking "these two guys should be in the Olympics". Amazing but far fetched but then that is Bond. I also enjoyed seeing "M". This is the first Bond movie I have seen since "A License To Kill" with Timothy Dalton as Bond but I believe I will watch the next one with DC in it. Definitely "eye candy" for us ladies. I can stare all I want at the beach scene and those tight trunks as hubby not around to notice....heehee and even he was he would not care as long as he reaps the benefits. Enjoy Caitlin. |

Well went to watch the ending last night and to my surprise I only had about 2 minutes left of the movie. Good watching though. Surprised to find out that Daniel Craig just turned 39 on March 2nd. He does look older than that. I would have taken him to be about 45, was I ever shocked to see his real age. Still great looking Bond.
Obi, Eva Green did a good job as her character Vesper Lynd but she is no great beauty IMHO. I think Madeline Stowe is much better looking than her even now in her late forties. Still just a woman's point of view. Who really knows what goes on inside a man's brain when it comes to the female gender. |

| She still does look great Fitz, very pretty but not a raving beauty. The other actress in the movie, the one in the Bahamas riding the horse, now she is beautiful. Just a woman's POV. |

Well, I have to agree with everyone, this was a great movie! Definitely the best Bond since Connery. I don't see what the fuss was over a "blond" JB. He was perfectly sexy! It's what a spy movie should be. I'm also glad that the movie wasn't filled with "cheesy" with one-liners. I may just have to sit down and watch it again! |

Hello all! Finally got a chance to watch Casino Royale on the plane ride back (better late than later). Not bad and defintely worth the wait.
Since I have seen Sean Connery's name mentioned throughout this thread I did see in an article from last week's USA Today that if he was to come out of retirement that the latest Indy Jones movie would be the one. Unfortunately, he will NOT be in the latest installment as he is enjoying his retirement. |

Really? Well, that just sucks! They had played it up that we were going to get to seem him recreate his role as Indy's dad! *sigh* |
