Hello all.
I know it has been a while since any of you have heard from us, But we are doing well. For those of you who remember the first gathering we attened (year of Wes Studi), we were newbies to everything. But by the next we were fully clothed and carrying blackpowder weapons..Oh what you started  .
So hear is our update. We (Marc, our son Shaun (15) and yes myself). Just finished competing in the Virginia Offhand Blackpowder competitions. Shaun did exceptional, he is now the Virginia Junior Champion. Marc did well, but did not place, A gentlemen who is Nationally ranked showed up  The man can hit a bulls eye every shot. AMAZING!. I came in second place in the Ladies 50 Yard. I was impressed, for I just started shooting the day before. WATCH OUT ANNIE OAKLY  . But I did win the Hawk throw. ( as I see it, I can launch that hawk faster then you can load a blackpowder riffle HAHA).
But again, see what you started. Way back when, never would have thunk it!!!. Two innocent people show up in Chimney Rock cause of a movie Marc liked, and now look at us.... Raoming the woods in stange looking outfits with guns.  Its a whole new world.

Hey Cherie!!!! Of course I remember you all! And you were greatly missed at this year's Gathering. But I'm glad to hear from you and glad to know you are doing well. Congrats on the competition. Let this be a warning to the new Gatherers we had this year: you don't know what you've just stepped into hahahahaha!  |

Hello Cherie,
It's great to hear from you. I wish I could have been there to
see the competitions. About how many competitors would you say were
there? How big is this thing?
Is your son hooked for good? Think he'll be doing this for many yrs?
It's nice when your children enjoy the same things.
Hey do you sharpen your own hawk? Sharp enough to slice bread?
