As long as we are on the subject of Gatherings, let me mention something. Next year is the 250th anniversary of the siege of Fort William Henry and the original site on the shores of Lake George will be having an event to commemorate it. This would be a great opportunity for a mini Gathering. No need to do or plan anything, the site will do it all for us! I have corresponded with Tim Cordell and they are in the planning stages. It should be a great event, and on the same ground as the original.

During the next few years there will be the opportunity to attend other events on the same piece of ground as they happened on 250 years ago. In 2008 I am sure Ticonderoga will do something, and perhaps Fortress Louisbourg. In 2009, there will be the Plains of Abraham at Quebec and also, the next day rather than the next year, the battle of St. Foy. These are events that may not happen again, so now is the time. And if you might be thinking about going to Canada for events, remember you will need a passport by then.

Right on, Fitz...and if they aren't done right, I'm not going to the 300th.

Life's journey is not to
arrive at the grave safely
in a well preserved body,
but rather to skid in sideways,
totally worn out, shouting
'...holy sh*t ...what a ride!'

Hi Fitz,
Yes, I'm hoping to go to some of these events.
It's always fun to step back in time.
